  INTERIOR DESIGN CONCEPTS FOR CONTEMPORARY ENVIRONMENTS with HELGA NEILSON

This 10 week course based course offers a very practical, hands on approach enabling participants to create individual, personalised design schemes.

Gain knowledge about how to successfully and creatively plan and design interior spaces for function and lifestyle.

Research and learn about the latest styles and finishes.

Explore colour and develop an understanding of how it can be used to change an environment.

  ABSTRACT PAINTING with PETER GRIFFEN

Dates: Wednesday 14 April – 12 May
Time: 10 - 2pm (4 hours, 1 day per week)
Cost: $400.00

Artist Peter Griffen will take you with him on a journey of freethinking, experimental abstract and semi-abstract painting. Many techniques using acrylic paint are demonstrated with a particular emphasis on strong colour.

Simple projects are set and participants are encouraged to work at their own rate and in their own way, allowing themselves to be guided by the painterly effects that they produce.

Intuition, self-expression and individuality are encouraged.

  STUDIO PAINTING with TIM GRATTON

Dates: Thursday 15 April – 17 June (available as  5 and/or  6 week course)
Time: 10 - 2pm (4 hours, 1 day per week)
Cost: 5 weeks $400.00 or 11 weeks $850.00

The course is designed to enhance and develop skills in painting whilst working with an experienced artist using acrylic paints either by brush or other application methods.

During the course the techniques, materials and tools required for painting in acrylic will be explained and demonstrated whilst the participants are creating a work of their own choice.

The artist educator Tim Gratton will guide you with the emphasis being on one-to-one tuition. This class will be driven by your individual projects and how they can be developed over the term and beyond.

During the term techniques, materials and tools required for painting will be both demonstrated and shared with the group including the use of oils and acrylics. You can paint in any style from abstract to figurative. This class is suitable for all levels of experience, beginners are welcome to come and create a work or many works of art of their own choice.

  DRAW ON COCKATOO ISLAND

Come and explore Sydney Harbour with Tim Gratton. Students will meet at Circular Quay for a field day of drawing and ‘learning to see’ on Cockatoo Island. This will be followed by a day of studio based practice to further develop your themes and ideas into painting.

Tim Gratton has been a practising and exhibiting artist for 20 years. During this time he has developed his skills regarding drawing and applying the conversation
from drawing to paint whilst observing. Learn to observe the location whilst converting your view from a variety of sites to collect diary drawings and notes.

Tim is a regular educator at Precinct Sydney, Woollahra Waverley Art School & artest.

  MAKEUP ARTISTRY with SIMONE COZENS
